ACS Laboratory, in combination with minor cannabinoid product maker 3Chi, is partnering with blockchain certification service Blockticity to launch the first national hemp client certificate of analysis (COA) as a non-fungible token (NFT).
Blockticity is providing the platform for what it is calling the first ever cannabis and hemp industry blockchain verified certificate of analysis NFT drop. The NFT for hemp, the company said in a statement, signifies the beginning of the emerging industry’s need for compliance.
ACS Laboratory, the largest hemp and cannabis testing facility in the eastern U.S., is the first laboratory to authenticate COAs on a blockchain. ACS points out that partnering with Blockticity, the leader in guaranteed certificates of authenticity, as well as Moonwalk, the leading NFT platform, is a dream team collaboration that will revolutionize the way COAs are accepted, processed and distributed.

The blockchain, Brown added, is the future for cannabis and hemp to secure the integrity of the analytical results and the COA, determine permissions and eventually to include payments.
The NFT drop will go live during Art Basel Miami Beach 2021 – Art Basel’s first in-person fair in Miami Beach since 2019 – and Miami Art Week, which takes place over the next three days, from Dec. 2-4.
